O Delage D8S De Villars Roadster 1933 propriedade da Coleção Patterson, em Louisville, Kentucky, foi nomeado “Best of Show” na 60 edição de Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance realizado no domingo. Além disso, as receitas provenientes de rifas, leilões, patrocínios e venda de bilhetes ajudou a contribuir com mais mil dólares para a caridade pelo quinto ano consecutivo.

“Há tantas coisas sobre este carro que são especiais”, disse o proprietário Jim Patterson, que fundou o restaurante de Long John Silver e contribuiu para a fundação da cadeia de Rally’s Hamburger. “Nós já havíamos ganhado (com outros carros) um monte de concursos, mas nunca aqui. Esta vitória em Pebble é o melhor. Esta é a vitória que realmente importa.”

Competidores de 33 estados e 14 países trouxeram seus automóveis premiados até Monterey – Península da Califórnia, para que estes fossem avaliados em 29 classes. No final, O Delage D8S De Villars Roadster 1933, branco e com carrocerias aerodinâmicas foi julgado o melhor do evento.

“Este Delage tem uma distância entre eixos curta, que faz parecer mais jovial, mas ainda assim tem uma aparência longa e elegante”, disse a presidente do Concours Sandra Button. “Ele fez 110 milhas por hora na competição do seu dia, e foi belíssimo. Este carro poderia fazer tudo, ele possui estilo, velocidade e conforto.”

O Delage acrescentou a versão desportiva da série D8 em 1930. Para fazer o S mais aerodinâmico do que seus antecessores, um novo radiador foi utilizado, o que exigiu uma capa especial e firewall que fez a D8S ainda mais visualmente distinto.

D8S 1933 Patterson enfeitou o  Salon de Paris, no Grand Palais. Ele foi detido durante a década de 1950 pelo Hotel Grand Velasquez, em Madrid – Espanha, e foi usado como transporte para os seus hóspedes mais exigentes. Agora é um dos 60º Pebble Beach Concours “Best of Show” – vencedores.

A Alfa Romeo, foi a marca de destaque no Concours 2010, teve a maior presença no campo de 2010, incluindo sete veículos que foram fornecidos pela Alfa Romeo, no Museu de Arese, na Itália. O 75 º aniversário da Jaguar também foi destaque, assim como Pierce-Arrow.

As classes especiais, com foco no 50 º aniversário do Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, o centenário da Indianapolis 500, o Hot-Rod lakesters e pilotos Bonneville, American Prewar Road Racing Motos construído em 1959, e Ghia que projeta design de veículos.

Mais de 250 carros e motocicletas estiveram presentes, abrangendo mais de 100 anos do automóvel, sendo o carro mais antigo um Mercedes Simplex 1902.  O anfitrião do Tonight Show – Jay Leno fez uma aparição, assim como outras celebridades. Entre elas: Roger Corman, Jeremy Piven, Erik Estrada e governador da Califórnia, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
